What a weekend!

Hi everyone!

It's been forever since I updated my blog. :)

MOPS on Friday went really well! I love the group and I look forward to making new friends! They have already invited me to a playgroup this Thursday. :)

Saturday night we did a trial run on the one girl we interviewed to babysit, because I really liked her. Chris and I went to dinner (just around the corner) and did some Christmas shopping. We were only gone 2 hours. She - Alicia - did really well and kept in touch with me via text and even sent a picture of Aidan. She brought Aidan some bubbles, a craft to do and a baby pumpkin to color on. When we came in Aidan was sitting on her lap watching cartoons. It was nice, I think he felt very at ease with her and had a good time. We have a Halloween party this Friday night, Aidan will already be in bed by the time we leave so Alicia will just be here making sure he is okay. She is great though, CPR certified, she's a CNA going to school to be a nurse

Ugh...so Chris has brought this nasty bug home from work. I'm not joking when I say his whole team has been out sick the last couple weeks.
Luckily, Aidan and I have really good immune systems and we had been fighting it off. Aidan and I got our flu shots Saturday morning, they wouldn't give one to Chris because he was sick. We were both fine, in fact I felt nothing from the flu shot.
Sunday, middle of the night, Aidan woke up with a fever. So we started him Tylenol & Ibuprofen, alternating them works the best!
He was all congested and coughing - just like Chris! We started the saline nasal drops/spray on him and they worked like a charm.
It was a rough day, but with a lot of cuddling and soothing and temp baths, he broke his fever Sunday night and has been fine since. Even his congestion is a lot better. This morning he is running around like a crazy boy!

Chris is STILL sick. I think he will have to go to the doctor. Unfortunately, I have picked up the bug. Sore throat, congestion...I am taking the over the counter stuff I am allowed to take and I using the saline spray (minus the snot bulb! LOL)
Oh and this weekend the baby, Keegan, and I were playing the poke back game! :-D I poke at him and he pokes back! I love it! How can I already be so in love with him?!

So I guess that's my update! I better go check on Aidan. I heard him jumping on our bed and watching cartoons. Good thing (being sarcastic) he's too smart for his own good and can turn on the TV via the remote (since it's wall mounted) and change the channel to Nick jr. He's a smart kid!

Quick update

Well, today I start interviewing potential babysitters for Aidan. (before you freak out, don't worry, I do a back ground check and require references)

It's hard for me to do this, but it's time. We have been depending on friends (I always paid them) but I need a babysitter that can be available if Chris and I need to go to an event and someone who can cover doctor appointments and it sure would be nice to have date night!

I have one girl coming today, and she seems really nice. I look forward to talking with her more.
Next week I have two more interviews and hopefully out of this bunch I will find the one!

Tomorrow, is my first MOPS meeting! I am so excited! I can't wait to see what it's like! :)

Eat, Pray, Love

So I have started reading Eat, Pray, Love. I really want to watch the movie but I always enjoy the books more. Almost every night when I go to bed, and the house is quiet, I read. It's my time, alone, it's just me and the book and whatever adventure we're on together. I guess it's just my escape.

So in my book the author and main character of the story is reflecting on life and how she does NOT want children. One of her friends told her "Having a baby is like getting a tattoo on your face. You really need to certain it's what you want before you commit." LOL :) Oh how true it is. Once you are a mother, you will always be mother, you will carry your kids in your heart just like a tattoo will always be there.

But it she mentions how she never had that desire to have kids. That was never me. I wanted children as far back as I can remember. As a child, I would stuff pillows under my shirt and pretend I was pregnant. I always knew that I wanted to be a mother. Then when we went through all our fertility treatments, I never thought it would happen.

I drove past the hospital that we used to go to for the fertility treatments last weekend. Oh what memories it brought back, I felt all the emotions all over again, the heartache of another Thanksgiving and Christmas without children. Just at that moment, Keegan gave me a nice big kick. Like to tell me, mom I love you and thank you for waiting for us.

The lesson that I learned from all of the years of trying, the heartache, the tears, the anger, was that no matter how much you force a situation, it will happen when it is meant to. I was meant to have Aidan, his soul was waiting for the right time. And again with Keegan.

Who would have imagined 3 years ago I was spending over $100 a shot/ per day in hopes to get pregnant and now I am pregnant with my second child Au natural! I am so blessed!

Anyway, I am anxious to see where my book goes and I hope that it continues to be a great story.

Well, I was just informed by my son that he has pooped. He says "uh-oh" and taps his diaper. It's a good sign, he doesn't like poop in his diaper and he knows if he tells me I will change him. :)

So I am off to be a mom...the best job I've ever had!! <3
I hope everyone has a great day!

Some thoughts

Good Morning!

When I'm pregnant I really feel the crazy ups and downs of life a lot more personally. We have had some great family news (however, I don't want to give details on anything until it's offical). On one hand it's sad but in the end it is the best thing for everyone.

I've also had some friend issues :-/ ...but most of my friends are not married and don't have kids. Here I am, I've been married for almost 10 years and we are having our second child, but most of my friends can't relate to ANYTHING I'm going through. I have been thinking about going to the MOPS group at our local church to meet some moms. Especailly, being a stay-at-home I really new a new group of friends.

I've also discovered that some moms appear to be amazing moms, (for example; facebook posts) but when you look into their life you see that it's all just a front and they are full of it. I guess they are trying to apprear to be a GREAT mom.

So for Halloween, Aidan is going to be a Monkey and we got the dog a banana costume so we can all go trick-or-treating together. :o) I am really looking forward to it! Since last year he was just too little to understand.

Well, I better get Aidan dressed so we can go run our errands. Today we need to go to PetSmart, Walmart, and the grocery store.

Aidan Pictures!

Aidan hugging Gracie in his room. These were all taken before his hair cut.

Washer and Dryer

The new utility sink even has a pull out sprayer! The washer and dryer are both high efficiency. I just love them!

We still need to hang pictures and whatnot on the walls. Chris is also going to hide the power cord by dropping it down the wall. So I guess it's not completely done!

The boys room!

This one ^ is dark but you can see the real wall color.

I think I am STILL nesting!

Oh what a morning!
I decided it was time to clean out our master bedroom closet. I knew it was going to be a big job but I didn't think it was going to take me 3 hours though. But it's done! I have one big bag of clothes for donation, one bag of garbage (you know the clothes that have holes in them but the hubby won't let you toss :0) and miscellaneous stuff that needs to put away in other places.
I was going to the store today but I think Aidan and I are going to go tomorrow. I am dragging! I don't know if it's because I'm almost in my third trimester or what but I feel exhausted!

So I made mac & cheese with peas for lunch for us, it was very yummy. I just laid Aidan down for a nap and I am about to nap as well.

Thinking lasagna for dinner tonight!

Also, I will post pictures soon of our bedroom, the nursery and the new washer and dryer!

Our busy weekend!

Well, I am re-starting my blog in hopes that I can keep up with it. :) So my friends and family can keeps tabs on our life and our children!

Happy Monday all!

I am now 25 weeks pregnant with our second child, another boy. We have decided to name him Keegan Patrick. I am so excited to meet him. He is a very quiet child in the womb however this pregnancy has been horrible. I still have morning sickness most days. And it's just that, every morning, I get sick and then I am fine. The only good thing with this pregnancy, is that I am not gaining the weight that I did with Aidan. I am only up 13 pounds so far. Yay!

The last few weekends we've had have been so crazy that we haven't had time to sit down or relax. The previous weekend we re-painted our room and moved out our huge bed frame and put in new blinds, curtains and a flat screen TV. Our room is small but it doesn't feel like it.
We also updated the boys room and put up curtains and whatnot. It looks so nice!

This past weekend, I had an appointment to get my eyes checked (they're good, got new contacts), Aidan got his first hair cut - so cute, naturally Chris had to work some, and we had family pictures done. However, Aidan had the biggest temper tantrum ever! He was so mad that we wouldn't let him investigate the pond with all the ducks in it by himself. Ugh. But our friend Brandy, who does the most awesome photos, graciously put up with us. But I think we got some good pictures, regardless! I can't wait to see them! We also watched "How to Train Your Dragon" which was very cute and I even teared up in the end! Great movie!

Sadly, I had to cancel plans with some of my dear friends for a jewelry party, because on top of everything, I have been fighting a cold. It seems to get better when I get enough sleep and flares up when I am exhausted.

But I just have to remember that I am pregnant and I do need to slow down and take it easy sometimes.

Well, I've got to go fold some laundry and get the house picked up. We're going grocery shopping later today.
